I'm updating this news column from my hotel room in Buenos Aires. I just received a note under my door with a chocolate warning me of a storm tomorrow. I hope it won't be affecting my flight early thursday morning to Ushuaia, the most southern town in Argentina from where I start my adventure on an expedition to the Antarctic. You can follow the adventure on the map at http://www.21stcenturyadventure.com

See you in a few weeks!

    PRODUCTION NEWS UPDATE

June & July were exciting months which included working with the Feds on editing the Sundance Kids new music video called Drive Away.

Ongoing collaboration with Hobo meant I got to go to London and shoot the bartending heavy weights Salvatore Calabrese and Peter Direly in an intimate interview at Bar50 on St James Street. These bartender masters own a serious craft which has been honoured and developed into a program by Sydney's Yakusan legends Mark Ward and Gilles Merry. The 'Craft' gives young tallent the chance to be mentored by the worlds elite bartenders in London and New York.  I'm currently making a series of documentaries on this very entertaining and inspiring venture. View the first clip at 'THE CRAFT -The Story So Far'

I've been using my Sony EX1 in conjunction with the Nikon D90 which has been throwing up some really nice footage. The Nikon D90 offers me the filmic 16mm look which is a welcome introduction to my work. Watch this space!

     MOVIE NEWS

Just another little update on the documentary ONE NINE NINE FOUR. Editing has now been finished and we are about to lock off on our colour grade and sound mix.

A note from the director Jai Al-Attas. "Our plan at this stage is to premiere the film early in 2009. We have lots of exciting things planned for the film and the way we plan to roll it out and release it. First of all this film was made as a homage to the bands of this era and the music that I grew up listening to, secondly it is a film for the fans and like minded people. I am just really excited that people will soon to get to see this which has nearly been 2 years in the making".

"I know that I have previously said the film would be released this year but after I had finished editing, I now have all the boring business aspects to take care of so that we don't get taken out one night(know what I'm saying?) So that's why a fresh 2009 plan is what makes the most sense and makes sure everything is done properly."

  • 7th September - A good week

I just got the go ahead for a new music video treatment for an emerging band called fifty sixx. I had spent a week developing concepts and was about to present my idea to the band and thier manager. We were all sitting in the room and I was looking through a magazine while waiting. A photo story jumped out at me and within 30 seconds I was presenting that very concept which had just inspired me. Watch this space!

Also this week I recieved the following email:  HAVE VIEWED YOUR OTHER WORK AND I HAve to say i feel you got this band better than anything .....DAVID LEE ROTH NEEDS YOU

    He went on to say

You have presented a problem it is so good that i am now gonna have to get a better sound track because rage and mtv and channel v will play this.

there is maybe a couple of minor changes but its all good mate the boys are cheering Dom thats it you now have to do the ROCKUMENTRY man i want you to do the guys clips in the future your brilliant.

you have possibly created ahot for thjis band that i definatly was not prepared for now i have to go and find some money to get the sound to match the clip.

I'm off out to celebrate a great week. x

Welcome to my website. Its been under semi construction for a long and fustrating 7 months but is now fully working. A couple of high-res movies still play as low-res movies due to server space which I'm getting delt with shortly. Please enjoy my clips and keep coming back for updates on my feature film and other projects which will be keeping me out of trouble over the next couple of months.
Have a look at my showreel to the left, it was taylor-made for an MTV job so was stripped of anything corporate.
